Finding
Womens Shoes in Wide Widths
Essential Tips and Hints
Want to Know if Those Wider Size Shoes Are Crafted
With the Quality You Deserve?
When we
receive new footwear, we perform a comprehensive inspection of the heel. Why
do we focus on this?
The reason for this is we're looking for high quality. An expensive pair of dress shoes
should have leather heels. Now, if our purchase was more modest, then we
would relax our standards.
While we're looking at the heel, notice if there is a layer of rubber on the
back edge. Also, full width shoes will use leather to encompass or cover a
plastic heel. If so, then expect the quality of the plastic to be comparable
with the caliber of the footwear.
Next, you should examine the stitching used to attach the sole to the
shoe. If the workmanship is below par, then it will be noticeable in the
stitching. The sole will not be securely or tightly connected to the upper
part.
Some details are easy to overlook, even when you are doing a sweeping,
extended review of the craftsmanship. Look closely at the buckles or any
other decoration that might blanket the shoe.
Are they firmly attached as you should expect in a well designed shoe? The
more attention you give to your new sandals, pumps or platforms, the easier
it will be to recognize well crafted, quality shoes.

Steps to a Proper Fit
We receive many helpful hints from family and friends. This one comes from
my aunt who has a closet full of shoes. While she still wears some narrow
footwear, she is beginning to appreciate the comfort of wide fitting shoes.
Here is her outstanding footwear tip...
When you first receive your new pair of shoes, you want to be sure they fit
properly. Right?
How do you walk in them long enough to test for comfort... but without
damaging the footwear in the event you need to return them to the online store
later?
My aunt's secret about shoes for women
Slip your feet into your new shoes and
then stretch an old stocking over the outside of each shoe. Why?
Now you can walk inside your own home for an extended period of time while
protecting your footwear at the same time. Some online stores will accept returns (and even
pay for the return shipping so you don't have to), but the shoes need to be
in their original condition - without scratches or marks.
Here is one of our favorite little tips for getting a good fit with spacious,
comfortable shoes.

What to do about scuff marks.
Scratches can be caused by the rough legs on your office chair or even while
driving your car. Try using Doc Martin's leather conditioner. If
that's not enough, then carefully test shoe dye. Shoe repair stores
will carry this product. It's similar to liquid polish, but will be
labeled as dye. I'd suggest you make a small test first, to see if you get
the results you're after.
